What counts
The Yes outcome occurs if Vladimir Putin permanently loses his office before December 31, 2026, at 11:59 PM ET. Temporary absences, caretaker roles, or mere resignation announcements do not count as permanent removal. Readers often mistake the deadline for the end of 2027 instead of late 2026.
